Eastern Australia - November 2008
Mammals: page 2
Several Black-striped Wallabies were seen at the Daisy Hills whilst I searched for Koala's.
This lovely Black Wallaby was in the grounds of the Atherton Caravan park at dusk and was quite approachable.
One of the major highlights of the entire trip was the Rock Wallabies at Granite Gorge near Mareeba. Although these are wild animals they have become so used to people you can feed them from the hand using special food available from the visitor centre. I would urge any visitor to this area to come here, it was just simply uplifting.
The most primitive of Kangaroos's the Rat Kangaroo. This one was at Cassowary House in the morning.
How cute is cute. Red-necked Pademelons were common and easy to see at the camp site and grass verges around O'Reilly's.
