Georgetown and Binya State Forest were good places to get Diamond Doves
The common small dove was the Peaceful Dove being noted virtually everywhere, this one was at the Cairn's Esplanade
Along with Emerald Dove this Bar-shouldered Dove was photographed at the feeders at Kingfisher Park Birdwatchers Lodge near Julatten. This bird was photographed using flash. Bar-shouldered's were fairly common and widespread
Common Bronzewing were only really common at Binya State Forest where they were highly wary birds, making slow approach to the water hole and taking flight at the slightest thing
Crested Pigeon were amongst the commonest of pigeons, though strangely not that common around Cairn's. This bird was at the water hole at Binya State Forest though many were seen walking around caravan parks at several locations.
What an absolute cracker. A pair of Spinifex Pigeons appeared on the rocks right beside the car at Cumberland Dam shortly after I had finished photographing a White-winged Triller. Had I not stopped to photograph that bird I may not have seen these birds let alone photographing any.
