Third-years

Third-winter, Nimmo's Pier, Galway, Ireland February 2009
Photographed with Canon 1D MkIII with Canon 500mm F4 Prime Lens
Very similar to second-winter but lacks any dark feather shafts or marks to the tertials and under-tail coverts. Bill band is much reduced and overal tone is pale greyish. The scapulars are pale grey and the wing coverts show a greyish wash due to emerging next generation of feathers.
