Isles of Scilly - 2008: page 2
Scillies October 2008 saw many familier rare species make appearances again, Grey-cheeked Thrush, Red-eyed Vireo etc however a Sociable Plover was a first for the islands, I also missed the Red-flanked Bluetail which was also a first, whilst a strong supporting cast of good rares, most enjoyable.
Red-backed Shrike, St. Mary's, Isles of Scilly - October 2008
This bird behind the pub in Old Town was unfortunately always against the sun and on the far side the field.
Lapland Bunting, St. Mary's, Isles of Scilly - October 2008
Scilly has got to be one of the best places in the UK to get up close views of these birds, this one, along with a second bird, was on the the Airfield by the windsock.
Red-breasted Flycatcher, Tresco, Isles of Scilly - October 2008
This smasher was along Pool Road near the David Hunt hide on Tresco on what was otherwise a rather uneventful and windy day.
Grey-cheeked Thrush, St. Agnes, Isles of Scilly - October 2008
Yet another Grey-cheeked Thrush year however this bird did show very well at times so I'll let it off. Click here to see more images of this bird.
Blyth's Reed Warbler, St. Agnes, Isles of Scilly - October 2008
Aggie seemed to hold the monopoly of good birds this season with this bird joining the OBP and Grey-cheeked Thrush whilst a Bobolink was also seen but not photographed as it was to flightly.

Red-eyed Vireo, Gugh, Isles of Scilly - October 2008
I managed to see two of the three Red-eyed Vireos that were on the islands this year, my tally is now well into the double figures for this species on here.
