Along with Swallow-tailed Gull, Lava Gull makes the Galapagos a must visit destination for gull nuts, Lava Gull is perhaps the rarest of the worlds gulls. Here the plumage is clearly not that of an adult but also doesn't seem to fit with that of First-years birds either, fresher more adult like feathers alongside older browner feathers.
