Common Rosefinch, Carn Gwarvel, St. Mary's

This bird often showed very well but I never had my camera with me at the time, this is the best images I could get against the light.

One of two birds seen, three present. A lot harder to get photos of as they tended to stay in longish grass.

These two birds showed well along the coastal path just above Porth Minnick before flying towards the airfield where they subsequently seen by others at the turning circle.

Scilly has got to be one of the best places in the UK to get up close views of these birds, this one, along with a second bird, was on the the Airfield by the windsock.

In the same place as one a couple of years ago and just as obliging, mere inches away and totally unconcerned about the birders present.

I found this bird as I walked up Garrison Lane just as I approached the Star Castle. It was unfortunately a very brief bird and was only seen for about 5 minutes during which time a rattled off only four images. Nice self find on the islands during a quiet spell.

A small flock of eight birds were present around the North Light and were often very approachable but strong winds really prevented me from getting any really decent images.
