All of the Mediterranean Gulls here were digiscoped at Southend Seafront in the evening of 18th July using the Nikon Coolpix P5000 and Swarovski Scope. As this was an after work visit I didn't have my usual camera so had to make do with this. Of the six juveniles present three were digiscoped roosting up on the beach with about 40 other Meds, there is a clear difference in these birds.
Red ringed (HFR6) Mediterranean Gull was first seen along this very stretch of coast as a first year in July 2006 and was noted here twice in 2007. It was ringed in Hungary; currently 'still' trying to find out a full history of the bird.
