A long staying 1st summer male Montagu's Harrier at Wallasea Island. I visited a week after it was found and these images were in rain and overcast conditions on 17th May 2008.

Not exactly local but close enough. This great female Red-footed Falcon was at Fishers Green, Lee Valley near Waltham Abbey Essex. I caught up with this bird, and 5+ Hobbies, on 18th May. I didn't realise it at the time but it was my first UK Red-foot for 13 years.
Common Buzzard, Rainham Marshes RSPB, Essex - 20th September 2008.
This bird soared directly over us as we waited for a Wryneck to show, suffice to say the Buzzard showed far better.
