Marsh Fritillaries: Hod Hill, Dorset 31st May 2009
Heath Fritillaries: Hockley Woods, Essex 2nd June 2009
During the course of the year many images of some of the countries best butterflies have been taken, with some of the best ones shown in these pages, further butterfly images can be found by selecting the Butterfly Home Page tab at the top of the page. As many of the countries best and rarest butterflies require at least a few hours drive many are not easily revisitable, not without again much time in the car, so I have to make do with what I get, until next year at least when I will hopefully have a much better macro lens. As the year progresses I will add new species and perhaps replace some of the images here with better ones. Here are some of the best I have.
