Adonis Blues proved to be incredibly difficult to photograph with their wings open once the sun got up and they were actively flying. These shots are from a little to late in the day, had hoped to be here earlier to get them wing's open warming up, but it was nice to get some shots at least. Most Adonis at Malling Down however did seem a little worse for wear by 5th June and I perhaps needed top be here at least a couple of weeks sooner though there were some good ones still around.
White-letter Hairstreaks are now out on Benfleet Downs being seen at the traditional Brambles; the one above was photographed on 26th June 2010 with the one below on 2nd July.
