Flycatchers

Eastern Kingbirds were both numerous and widespread being found in the centre of the woods to fence posts at Anahuac as here. This bird was particularly confiding though the failing evening light meant settings that ended up giving a slightly darker and grainier image than I had hoped for.
 
Ah the daddy of all Texan flycatchers. Scissor-tailed Flycatchers were noted along many back roads but proved to be less photogenic than those along the road along Bolivar Peninsula at the High Island end.
