Uncommon on the beach at Bolivar Flats Horned Larks could sometime be found running amongst the parked cars
 
Eastern Meadowlarks were common along inland fields and at Anahuac which they, as with this bird, sing from roadside posts. Compare with the Western Meadowlark on the California March 2007 photo pages.
