Short-billed Dowitchers were found at numerous wetland sites; Anahuac, Bolivar Flats; Bolivar Horseshoe Lake and the flooded fields east of Winnie but for shear close up views the Oilfields were hard to beat: all the dowitchers on this page are from the Oilfields.
Away from the Oilfields Short-billed Dowitchers were still seen very well with the bird above being part of a flock of around 30 birds, itself part of around 150 birds present, at the flooded fields east of Winnie and the group below from the road that passes Horseshoe Lake at Bolivar loop road 108.
