Thayers Gull, 4th winter: Laguna Park, San Luis Obispo, California, USA - 23rd November 2009
Aged as fourth winter rather than adult by bull bill tone and dark marks and dark marks visible in the tail. Bird is not a third winter as all of scapulars and wing coverts are fully replaced adult type feathers.
Note the small rounded head with peak just behind the eye and the rich bubble gum pink legs. The underside to P10 is extensively white, extending well along the feather from the tip.
